The Royal Hippodrome opened in 1883 as the New Theatre Royal and Opera House. It changed to the Royal Hippodrome in 1904 following refurbishment.
The Royal Hippodrome was the home of Music Hall in Eastbourne for many years and has the longest running summer show in Britain.
The venue has played host to a number of star names over the years including: Harry Houdini, Charlie Chaplin, Gracie Fields, Max Miller, Harry Secombe, Frankie Vaughan, Norman Wisdom and Bruce Forsyth.

The Hippodrome has a seating capacity of 643, a fully licensed bar upstairs plus coffee bar on the ground floor.
